Newbrough
This picturesque hamlet is a perfect example of village life. It was made a borough in 1124 but a settlement has been there since the Roman occupation and there are signs of habitation by Ancient Britons nearby.
Out and About
The nearest town is Hexham, which has a market every Tuesday, cinema, Leisure Centre and swimming pool, park, childrens play area and bowling green.
Further Afield
Gateshead Metro Centre (one of Europes largest shopping centres), Beamish museum, Newcastle and Hexham race courses. Alnwick Castle and Gardens, the Farne Islands and some of Englands most beautiful stretches of coastline.
There is something for every member of the family. You will all find plenty to do, whether you are staying or just passing through.
